I am Isa Gbolahan Babalola, a mathematics graduate from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, with a First Class Honours degree and a CGPA of 3.82/4.00 — ranking in the top 5% of my cohort. My research interests sit at the intersection of fluid mechanics, applied analysis, and mathematical modelling.
My undergraduate thesis was on boundary layer flows over flat plates, I investigated the mathematical formulation and solution of steady, two-dimensional, laminar boundary layer flow for two distinct physical configurations: a semi-infinite stationary flat plate (Blasius flow) and a linearly stretching sheet. I derived the Prandtl equations from the Navier–Stokes equations via Lie group symmetry methods, used similarity variables to transform them to a non-linear ordinary differential equations, then solved the resulting equations.
I am currently a Graduate Research Intern at the International Centre for Applied Mathematical Modelling and Data Analytics, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, where I am learning and gaining hands-on experience in infectious disease modelling.
I am open to pursuing postgraduate studies in applied mathematics, fluid dynamics, or related areas, and welcome opportunities for graduate research collaboration.
Beyond research, I am committed to mathematics education, I have tutored and mentored over 100 students across secondary and undergraduate levels, and co-organised the University of Ibadan ODE-Integration Bee.
